Return(ed) to Campus Newsletter

Feb. 25, 2021

Dear Members of the Bentley Community,

While cases of COVID-19 on campus have been steady this spring, it is still extremely important that we all continue to do our part to reduce the spread of the virus on campus and in our communities. Remember to continue to be smart about your social interactions and avoid extended gatherings with those outside of your household. It’s only when we all do our part that we will see continued progress.

Twice Weekly Testing Continues
As an added measure of campus safety, residential students have been required to undergo two COVID-19 screening tests each week since the start of February. This increase in test frequency has helped us to more quickly identify positive cases on campus, resulting in less close contacts needing to go into quarantine housing. Twice weekly testing has proven to be a benefit to the community and residential students will be required to continue this practice until further notice.

Residential students must make and attend two appointments per week not on back-to-back days. All students are expected to attend the appointments that they make, or if they cannot attend an appointment, cancel that appointment and schedule one at a different time. The Screening Test Program will no longer be open on Sundays, but will have additional appointment times and extended hours Monday and Thursday.

Residential students will need to make two appointments between Monday and Thursday. Please set your appointments using one of these three arrangements for scheduling:

  • Monday and Wednesday
  • Monday and Thursday
  • Tuesday and Thursday

View the Screening Testing Program schedule and set your appointments on the Bentley Health Portal at bentley.medicatconnect.com. See bentley.edu/testing for instructions.

Vaccinations and Testing
While most community memebrs won’t be eligible for vaccination until Phase 3, expected to begin sometime in April, anyone with access to campus who may have already received one or both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine will still be required to be enrolled in the Screening Testing Program (twice per week for residential students as noted above). Students who receive the COVID vaccine should upload documentation on the Bentley Health Portal at bentley.medicatconnect.com.

We’ll continue to monitor state and federal guidelines and provide updates as available here.

COVID-19 Dashboard
Since January 1, 90 positive cases have been reported on the dashboard. With 22,979 total tests administered, that leaves us at a 0.40% positivity rate.
