Moving to the next phase of our strategic positioning process

March 30, 2022

Dear Bentley Community,

Since we first launched our strategic positioning process in the fall, I’ve been impressed by the insightful feedback from members of our community as we work together to define a vision for Bentley’s next decade and beyond. Several hundred faculty, staff and students took part in community engagement sessions to share their ideas and big-picture visions for Bentley’s future with four committees of their peers. The engagement we've seen has been proof of your belief in Bentley and commitment to ensuring the success of our next chapter. To all who have participated, thank you very much for your thoughtful participation.

I’m pleased to share that the process is continuing to move forward as planned. The strategic positioning steering committee has now received four formal draft reports – one from each of the four strategic positioning committees – each of which outlines a series of recommended strategic priorities, initiatives and objectives that are based on the community feedback received over the last seven months. The steering committee is now carefully synthesizing and evaluating these reports and will soon begin the process of drafting a single, cohesive plan for the university. That draft plan will then be shared with the community to read and review.

I have said before that Bentley is in a strong position to meet the challenges facing the higher education landscape. The work that you have done so far in this strategic positioning process has confirmed that deeply held belief. Your collective energy, commitment and creativity is evident in the feedback, meetings, emails and other feedback you’ve contributed so far. I’m excited to share the result of those ideas with you soon.

Again, thank you for helping our community build a better future for Bentley, and thank you for engaging in the conversations we’ve had about our path ahead. The future of higher education is not without disruptions and obstacles. But I am confident in how we will approach those head on, thanks in part to the students, faculty and staff who make our community special.

Most Sincerely,
President Chrite
