Check Browser Settings

If you are trying to connect to CASHNet to view bills, make payments or enroll in a payment plan, and receive an error message, it may be a result of which browser you are using, or a setting within the browser. CASHNet recommends using the browser versions listed below, however older browser versions may also allow you to connect. 

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer (Versions 9.0; 10.0 or 11.0)
  • Mozilla Firefox (Version 37.0)
  • Google Chrome (Version 42.0)
  • Safari (Version 5.1.7 on Windows or Version 6.0 on Macintosh)

Although other browsers may allow a connection, the pages may not load correctly or be displayed as intended. 

If you are using a supported web browser and still receive an error while trying to connect, please use the following steps to be sure the cookie option settings are updated correctly in your browser.

For Microsoft Internet Explorer  (view example):

  • Open the browser and click the "Tools" button (may be an image of a gear).
  • Select the "Privacy" tab and select "Advanced" under settings section.
  • Both the "First-Party Cookies" and "Third-Party Cookies" must be set to "Accept".
  • Apply the changes, restart the browser and try again.

For Mozilla Firefox  (view example):

  • Open the browser and click the "Tools" button on the menu bar.
  • Select "Options".
  • Select "Privacy" tab.
  • Under the "Firefox will:" field, select "Use custom settings for history".
  • Make sure the "Accept Cookies from sites" and "Accept third-party cookies" are both checked".
  • Apply the changes, restart the browser and try again.

For Google Chrome  (view example):

  • Click the tools button (may be an image of a wrench or 3 horizontal lines).
  • Select "Settings".
  • Click the "Show advanced settings" button.
  • Click "Content settings" in the "Privacy" section.
  • Make sure "Allow local data to be set" is selected and to allow both first-party and third-party cookies. 
  • Apply the changes, restart the browser and try again.

For Safari  (view example):

  • Click the "Preferences" button on the toolbar.
  • Click "Security" (some versions it may be under "Privacy").
  • Make sure "Accept Cookies" is set to "Always".
  • Apply the changes, restart the browser and try again. 

For iPad/iPhone  (view example):

  • Click "Settings" icon
  • Click "Safari" on left menu bar
  • Click "Accept Cookies" under Privacy Options
  • Make sure "Always" is selected
