Recapping the Fall 2021 Career Conversations Graduate Fair

The end of the Fall semester is a busy time for Bentley graduate students. Apart from exams and project deliverables, students work on building their networks and look for internships and full-time opportunities. It is such an exciting time to connect with industry experts and search for a role to apply newly acquired knowledge and skills from the semester!

Every year Bentley welcomes various companies for the Fall Career Fair, organized by the Bentley Pulsifer Career Development Center. Some of the companies Bentley welcomed this year were EY, Deloitte, Pegasystems, iRobot, and Definitive Healthcare. This year the fair took place virtually, which made it even easier for students to connect with recruiters and company representatives.

Another advantage to the virtual approach is that the employers were able to display expected qualifications, and students could in turn register for their sessions and fill out Handshake profiles to make connecting to employers more seamless. I really enjoyed this feature and was able to register for both group presentations and one-on-one sessions to meet with professionals. The recruiters and employers were friendly and shared a lot of valuable information about their professional journeys and companies. I received amazing guidance regarding the job searching process and made great connections with recruiters!

Career Conversations is another staple program at Bentley. This program was the largest virtual networking event of the Fall season and provided opportunities for students to network with over 44 Bentley alumni working and get insight into their professions and life after Bentley.

The five main booths that students could drop into were: (1) Accounting and Tax, (2) Analytics and Tech, (3) Finance, (4) HFID (Human Factors in Information Design), and (5) Marketing. Additionally, the Graduate Career Development team had their own virtual booth, where students could join to ask for any networking tips and advice. There was also a Peer Networking booth for students to connect with one another. More than 120 graduate students and 44 alumni/professionals participated in the event. In total, there were 375 completed chats!

We cannot wait for Spring Career Fair and excited for you to join next time!
