Welcome from the President of the Graduate Student Association

As the President of The Graduate Student Association (GSA), I want to welcome you to Bentley. The GSA aims to serve the collective interests of the graduate student body by fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment for all. GSA conducts events and activities that provide graduate students with the opportunities to socialize and network with their peers, develop skills that create value for their careers, and a platform to voice their concerns. GSA is also the parent organization of ten other graduate student organizations that cater to academic and professional interests. It is also a great extra-curricular activity that can help you stand out to employers as you develop your leadership and management skills.

It has been an incredible learning experience for me as I have gotten the opportunity to improve several aspects of being a good leader: time management, staying organized through competing deadlines, resolving conflicts, managing people and interests, and implementing new initiatives. My leadership has been supported by the assistance of the Senior VP and a very hard-working team. There is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes and my dream team has come through every single time. Due to their dedication, we have pulled off several exciting events during the Fall 2022 semester such as our trip to Six Flags New England, a Harbor Cruise cocktail event, and our etiquette luncheon to practice professional dining skills. We also launched a student lounge exclusively for graduate students with several amenities. We aim to maintain this energy and enthusiasm for Spring 2023 as well through upcoming events such as our annual Grad Gala, tickets to sporting events, an alumni social and several others to be disclosed later.

To all of you incoming students, I look forward to seeing you virtually and in-person in the upcoming weeks. I encourage you to visit our beautiful campus in Waltham, Massachusetts and take advantage of its many facilities. As you attend your classes, I also encourage you to participate in the many events planned by GSA and our graduate organizations and offices; it’s the best way to make new connections and expand your professional network. I wish you the best with your academic and professional goals and welcome you to our graduate community. I hope your experience will be even more rewarding than you anticipate. Welcome to Bentley, Falcons!
