Bentley placed second in the regional 2011 College Fed Challenge, an annual monetary policy debate competition for undergraduate college students, held on November 9 and sponsored by the Federal Reserve System and select regional Federal Reserve districts.

The Bowles Performing Arts Series at Bentley University kicks off its season with Redline, a men’s a cappella group based in Boston, on Wednesday, November 16, at 6:30 p.m. in Wilder Pavilion (Adamian Academic Center) on the Bentley campus, 175 Forest Street in Waltham, Mass. 

On November 3, students in Ellen Miseo’s Consumer Chemistry course visited Analytical Answers, Inc. in Woburn, Mass. Analytical Answers is one of the largest independently owned microanalysis, surface characterization and failure analysis laboratories in the United States.

President Larson and student Sarah Benson 11'  BS, MBA '12, joined an impressive cast of speakers and performers at the inaugural TEDx New England held at the WGBH studios.

As part of the Tufts Health Plan Speaker Series, the Center for Women and Business at Bentley University presented Judge Nancy Gertner, retired U.S. district court judge for Massachusetts. The program was held on October 26.

The free  program, “Educated, Trained, Or Called? Moving from a Business Education to a Satisfying Profession,” will be held on Thursday, November 3, from 3:35 to 4:50 p.m. in LaCava 375AB.

Today’s students rely on technology for both their academic and social lives, and though some see it as a barrier to concentration in the classroom, others, like Mark Frydenberg are embracing it as a key teaching strategy. It was this core strategy and belief that propelled Mark to rethink the former CIS (Computer Information Systems) Tutoring Lab, and transform it into the CIS Learning and Technology Sandbox, a state-of-the-art learning space that opened this fall in the Smith Academic Technology Center, room 234, adjacent to the Trading Room.

Wall Street, social activism, and the economy were fodder for discussion as a panel of faculty members hosted “#OccupyWallStreet: What's it All About?” on the Bentley University campus. To view a video of the entire discussion click here.

Liz Brown, adjunct assistant professor of law, taxation and financial planning, was named the first executive director of the Boston Forum of Golden Seeds, a network of angel investors (affluent individuals who invest capital for business start-ups) dedicated to funding early stage companies founded and/or led by women.
