Corporate leaders, academics and thought leaders will come together at Bentley University to explore what it means to be a conscious business in the 21st century. The fourth annual Conscious Capitalism research conference, held at Bentley May 22 and 23, 2012, will focus on the theme “Conscious Cultures: Building a Flourishing Business on Love and Care.”

She was honored for outstanding achievement at the ILA annual conference in Seattle, Washington. The outstanding doctors featured in Meldrum’s research unanimously agreed that listening is at the heart of good medicine and that it is a holistic experience of coming to know patients that involves much more than simply hearing their words.

Chef Ming Tsai will deliver the keynote address at the Bentley University McCallum Graduate School of Business 37th annual commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 19, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. on the south campus.

Bentley University’s Center for Women and Business (CWB) today brought together global business leaders to discuss strategies and solutions for advancing women to positions of leadership.  The Center’s inaugural forum titled “Moving from Conversation to Action”, highlighted programs and initiatives implemented by businesses to advance women in the workforce.

Alternative energy was on the agenda for a group of students who visited nuclear power plants and met with various agencies in France during Spring Break. The 10-day tour included stops in Marseille, Aix-en-Provence, Lyons, Brest and Paris.

The Bentley Service-Learning Center announced three faculty grant awards: Joan Atlas, Skip Hachey and Liz LeDoux. The development grants are for $1,000 each for community-based projects. All three grant winners will offer faculty seminars on their projects during the course of the spring and fall semesters.

Bentley University’s Develop U community prevention and outreach initiative received national recognition with a Silver Excellence Award from NASPA–Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education, the leading association for the advancement, health, and sustainability of the student affairs profession. Under the category “Student Health, Wellness, Counseling, and Related,” the award was announced at the NASPA annual conference in March.

In overall student satisfaction, Bentley ranked #21.

Focused on the need to grow companies in a sustainable, responsible, and ethical manner and create shared value for each stakeholder, Kent’s talk will highlight critical lessons that The Coca-Cola Company — the largest beverage company in the world and one of the most widely recognized brands — has learned on its 125-year journey: how to provide job and growth opportunities; reaching out to communities around the world; stimulating small business development; protecting vital natural resources such as water and crops; and improving women’s equality.
