Bentley University seniors Taylor Haney, Nolan Karthol, and Elizabeth Sisson are among Boston-area college students serving on a Student Advisory Committee for the Massachusetts Innovation & Technology Exchange (MITX) to organize a student-focused track for the 2011 FutureM event taking place in Boston from September 12 to 16.

For the seventh consecutive year, Bentley hosted the International Summer Institute at Bentley (ISIB), held July 11 to July 30. This year's program brought 41 advanced undergraduate and graduate business students from 12 different countries -- including Australia, Austria, China, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Malaysia, Moldova, Morocco, Russia and Ukraine -- for a three-week intensive study of key prevailing business trends.

Bentley University Cammarata Professor of Management Susan Newell and co-authors received a Best Paper Award at the 19^th European Conference on Information Systems, held June 9 to 11 in Helsinki, Finland.

The assistant dean and director of graduate student and academic services is awarded for his contributions to an article furthering the collegiate housing profession.

The American Statistical Association (ASA) has announced the election of Dominique Haughton, Bentley University professor of mathematical sciences, as an ASA Fellow. Fellows are recognized for their outstanding professional contributions and leadership in the field of statistical science. Haughton is one of 58 new fellows, hailing from 25 states, Canada, and Singapore. The fellows will receive their certificates on August 2 at the annual Joint Statistical Meetings in Miami Beach, Florida.

Katherine Blake, executive director of marketing communication and director of web services, was ordained by the Chaplaincy Institute of Maine as an interfaith chaplain on June 5. Coursework included 500 class hours, 150 volunteer hours, 150 internship hours and monthly book reviews.

Bentley University announces the appointment of three faculty members to the position of associate deans: Dorothy Feldmann, associate dean of business programs; Juliet Gainsborough, associate dean of arts and sciences; and Vicki LaFarge, associate dean of academic affairs.

Rethinking Undergraduate Business Education: Liberal Learning for the Profession, a book emanating from The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching's national study of undergraduate business education, features Bentley University for its innovative integration of business and arts and sciences.

Pierre Berthon, Clifford F. Youse Chair of Marketing and Strategy, is co-editor of the May-June 2011 issue of Business Horizons. The special issue (Volume 54, Issue 3) focuses on social media, including an introduction that provides a brief overview of Web 2.0, social media and creative consumers and explores the challenges and opportunities presented to managers generally, and to marketers in particular.

Associate Professor of Law Marianne DelPo Kulow was selected as one of four Master Teacher Finalists by the Academy of Legal Studies in Business (ALSB), the international organization of professors who teach law in business schools. Kulow will present in August at the ALSB annual conference in New Orleans.
