Geraldine "Gerri" Taylor, assistant dean for health and wellness and director of the Center for Health and Wellness, was appointed as a 2011-2013 American College Health Association (ACHA) Board of Directors Member-at-Large, effective June 3, 2011, at the Assembly of Representatives during the 2011 ACHA Annual Meeting in Phoenix, Arizona.

Professor of Psychology and Natural Sciences Helen Meldrum recently brought two experienced business leaders from Harvard Medical School's Institute of Coaching to speak to her Counseling and Coaching Methods course, bridging the gap between classroom learning and real world application. The Institute of Coaching is housed at McLean Hospital, located less than a mile from the Bentley campus, and is dedicated to advancing coaching research, education and practice. Coaching is defined as a change process that mobilizes strengths and realizes the potential of individuals and organizations.

On April 15, Boston Federal Reserve President Eric Rosengren formally presented the national championship trophy to the Bentley team that won the national title at the seventh annual College Fed Challenge in December 2010. Bentley team members, accompanied by faculty advisers David Gulley and Aaron Jackson, accepted the award at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.

Roy "Chip" Wiggins, PhD, has been named Dean of Business and the McCallum Graduate School of Business at Bentley University, effective May 1, 2011. Wiggins began his Bentley career in 1996 as an Assistant Professor of Finance, and most recently served as Chair of the Finance Department and Director of the Bentley Microfinance Initiative.

The Center for Marketing Technology (CMT) at Bentley University will bring together leading experts and practitioners in social media for Going Local With Social Media on Friday, May 6, from 7:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Bentley, 175 Forest Street in Waltham. Author C.C.

Bentley University students are using technology to help teach English to students in Afghanistan, and to break down cultural barriers. Founded by Robert E. McNulty, director of programs at the Center for Business Ethics at Bentley, the one-on-one tutoring program offers language lessons via the web-based live-video service Skype.

David Gergen, a prominent commentator, editor, professor, best-selling author and adviser to four presidents, will deliver the commencement address to approximately 1,000 Bentley University undergraduate students on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. on the south campus of Bentley University, with an expected 7,000 in attendance.

Bentley University is one of the most environmentally responsible colleges in the U.S.A. and Canada, according to The Princeton Review (www.PrincetonReview.com). The well-known education services company selected Bentley for inclusion in the just-released second annual edition of its downloadable book, "The Princeton Review's Guide to 311 Green Colleges: 2011 Edition."

Bentley University visiting scholar Philip DesAutels served as chairman of the jury for the Globe Forum's Globe Award for Sustainability Innovation 2011, which will be presented on May 12 at the Stockholm Waterfront Congress Centre in Sweden. Also serving on the jury of internationally recognized experts was Pierre Berthon, Bentley University marketing professor and Clifford F. Youse Chair of Marketing. DesAutels was also a featured speaker at the 2009 and 2010 Globe Forums.

The Women's Leadership Institute at Bentley University will present its sixth annual career advancement conference for professional women in the first decade of their careers on Friday, May 13 from 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. in the Executive Dining Room in the La Cava Center at Bentley University.
