Bentley University Board of Trustees Elects Four New Members

The Bentley University Board of Trustees has elected four new members: Dale L. Carleton, former vice chairman and executive vice president at State Street Corporation; John (Jack) W. Cumming, chairman of the board and executive officer at Hologic Inc.; Rosabeth Moss Kanter, author and Harvard Business School Professor of Management; and Jeroen van den Hoven, professor of Moral Philosophy and vice dean of the Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management at Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands.

High School Students Experience Corporate and University Life During “Wall Street 101" Camp at Bentley University

Bentley University is once again offering a unique experience for high school students this summer with the Wall Street 101 business camp.  Held on the Bentley campus in Waltham, Mass., the week-long program allows high school students to engage in the fundamentals of Wall Street through a technology-rich and interactive curriculum.

Students Launch Bentley Give ‘N Go, The Sustainable Move-Out Project, December 2010

December 2010 marked the launch of Bentley Give 'N Go, The Sustainable Move-Out Project. Organized by a group of Bentley students, the two-week program aims to reduce the amount of useable goods that are thrown away by residential students moving out at the end of each semester. 

"The program was extremely well executed by the student team and I was really impressed with their work ethic and organization," says Amanda King, Bentley manager of sustainability.

Bentley Female Students Participate in Network of Executive Women Mentoring Program

Bentley female students were on hand to meet mentors from the Network of Executive Women (NEW) at the second annual kick-off event for the NEW Horizons College Mentoring Program, held this fall at the Marriot Hotel in Newton, Mass.

The NEW Horizons Mentoring Group aims to create a mentoring program that is sustainable and provides value to the student, the mentor and the consumer packaged goods and retail industry. This year the program has doubled in the number of mentees and now includes MBA students.

Bentley Team Advances to 2010 National Moot Court Competition

Bentley semi-finalists Shaun Boedicker and Puja Shah

One of the four Bentley teams that competed in the Eastern Regional Moot Tournament of the American Collegiate Moot Court Association (AMCA) in November advanced to the national tournament slated for January 2010 in New Orleans. The advancing team of Bentley seniors Puja Shah and Shaun Boedicker was among 40 teams that competed in the regional competition. The Bentley team of senior Monil Kothari and junior Will Markow has been placed on a reserve list of teams at the nationals.

Mathematical Association of America Presents Howard Eves Award to Bentley University Professor Richard Cleary

Bentley University Professor Richard Cleary received the Howard Eves Award from the Northeastern Section of the Mathematical Association of America (MAA). The award was presented on November 17 at the 55th Annual Fall Sectional Meeting held at Providence College in Rhode Island.

Australia and New Zealand Marketing Academy Honor Professor Pierre Berthon of Bentley University with Best Paper Award

Bentley University professor Pierre Berthon's current research received the Best Paper Award on the Marketing Strategy Track of the 2010 Australia and New Zealand Marketing Academy Conference (ANZMAC).  Berthon co-wrote the paper "Creative Consumers: Awareness, Attitude & Action - Instrument & Preliminary Results" with Colin Campbell (Simon Frazer University), Leyland Pitt (Simon Frazer University) and Ian McCarthy (Simon Frazer University).  The award was presented at the annual conference held at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand from November 30 to December 2,

Bentley University Appoints Professor Dhaval Dave as Gibbons Research Professor of Economics

Bentley University Associate Professor of Economics Dhaval Dave was appointed Gibbons Research Professor of Economics. During the three year professorship, Dave will pursue research projects that investigate the intersection of economic and financial factors, individuals' risk-taking through various modes, and outcomes or behaviors related to health and human capital.
