The Bentley Buzz

Connecting faculty and staff, one story at a time

Though we're not on campus at the moment, the Bentley Buzz will continue to share stories about the faculty and staff who make Bentley special. Now more than ever, it's important for our community to remain connected, one story at a time. Share your stories with us at buzz@bentley.edu.

Back to Bentley Graphic

Each week, the Return to Campus Task Force will share updates on the work being done across our community to prepare for the return of students to campus this fall. In the first update, Director of Emergency Management Geoff Bartlett shared details on classroom renovations, plexiglass installations and how to submit questions about the return to campus. Keep an eye out for emails each week with new updates. And make sure to regularly visit the Back to Bentley website, as new information is being posted there, too.

Racial Justice Task ForceNo to racism

More than 100 faculty, staff, students and alumni volunteered to join the new Task Force for Racial Justice. Co-chaired by Donna Maria Blancero, provost and vice president for academic affairs, and Katie Lampley, assistant provost of diversity and inclusion, the task force is charged with identifying and investigating practices at Bentley that sustain systemic racism, then recommending specific actions to overturn those practices. With the task force's work already under way, the group will move quickly and is being asked to produce an executive summary by the end of 2020.

An Update to our Logo and Seal

In April, “Be a Force” was introduced as our new brand platform for the years ahead. As the University Marketing and Communications Committee continues to unveil new aspects of the brand platform, it recently announced a refresh to Bentley's logo, seal and visual identity. The updated logo, inspired by past ones and the familiar Bentley shield design, is clear, memorable and easy to view on the mobile devices that people increasingly use to view our website and other online assets. Our web developers have created an easy-to-use logo generator to allow faculty and staff to easily pair the name of their office, division, center or program with the updated logo and one of four accent colors to create their own look within the Bentley brand. Create yours today!
