How Bentley Students Made the Most of Summer
Bentley students love using LinkedIn to share their experiences and accomplishments, and this summer was no exception. Beyond the hands-on learning from internships and fellowships, common themes emerged in their reflections: gratitude, personal development and human connection.
Students’ skills and passions were in action across industries such as asset management, energy, pharmaceuticals and residential student life at organizations including Eli Lilly, Morgan Stanley, Royal Caribbean Group, Deloitte University leadership center, Yale University and the Boston Red Sox. Daniela Barrera ’26
Major: Accounting
“I officially wrapped my internship at BKV Corporation with their commercial team. I had the opportunity to get experience in the natural gas industry and learn more about the commercial side of the business. I worked on projects involving settlement statements, midstream agreements and Excel-based analysis.
One of the highlights was visiting BKV's assets in Fort Worth and seeing the operations behind the work I had been streamlining and analyzing throughout the summer. It was great to see the physical side of the business.”

“As I conclude my time as a wealth management intern at Morgan Stanley in New York City, I’m walking away with not only new knowledge, but also connections and experiences that made this summer incredibly meaningful. I’ve always tried to approach new experiences with an open mind, and this internship gave me the opportunity to do exactly that.
Beyond the technical knowledge I gained, one thing that especially stood out was Morgan Stanley’s commitment to its people.”

“Over the summer, I represented Eli Lilly's Diabetic Therapies portfolio. I was able to connect with 65+ Lilly employees and every single conversation circled back to the same thing: none of it works if you're not uncovering a real problem for a real person. Not a call plan, not a data point. An actual human being.
Every conversation was about getting a patient closer to a therapy that could actually change their quality of life. That's not something you learn from training modules. That's something you learn from first hand experience.”

Double major: Finance and Professional Sales
“I spent the past two days with the Royal Caribbean Group as part of its Early Career Immersion Program, getting a firsthand look at the company from its Port Miami headquarters and aboard Wonder of the Seas. Seeing a ship of that scale in action gave me a new appreciation for everything that goes into creating the experience guests ultimately remember. We learned about the business, culture and different paths.”
Next summer he will join the company as a deployment strategy intern.

“If you had told me during freshman year that I’d be spending a weekend at Deloitte University, working on case prep with PwC and getting invited for coffee chats with recruiters from Oliver Wyman and Capital One, I wouldn’t have believed you. This weekend, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the Management Leadership for Tomorrow summer seminar, and it was everything I didn’t realize I needed.
Being surrounded by fellows from across the country, all talented and driven, was inspiring!”

“Exactly one year ago, I began my residential life journey as a resident assistant at Bentley supporting first-year students. This summer, I continued that journey as a residential fellow at Yale Young Global Scholars.
Consolidating every lesson into two words I would choose ‘identity analysis.’ Understanding where young scholars place their identities, recognizing the strengths and limitations of my own and, most importantly, learning how to grow alongside identities whose complexities extend far beyond my own experience.”

“I’m proud to share that I’ve completed my first wealth management internship with Morgan Stanley! I’ve been able to work on projects that have allowed me to conduct market research, understand asset management strategies within client accounts and develop an understanding of the different investment measurement tools used to evaluate investment performance.
Some highlights from my summer include: SIE [Securities Industry Essentials exam] preparation, SpaceX IPO, building connections with the team and World Cup bonding.”

“This summer, I had the incredible opportunity to be a marketing intern with the Boston Red Sox and I truly could not be more grateful for the experience.
One of the biggest lessons I learned from working in sports is that what may feel like a normal day at work for you can be one of the most special days of someone else’s life. Being part of creating those moments has been incredibly meaningful and has given me an even greater appreciation for the industry and its impact.”
Summer 2025 Throwback
Many Bentley students also got a career glow-up in summer 2025 as they ventured across the U.S. — and around the world — for summer internships.
Lessons went beyond technical skills. Learning to adapt to office culture, work both independently and in teams, ask questions, build trust and navigate life in a new country helped boost confidence, uncover passions and shift career paths.
