Bentley students got a career glow-up this summer as they ventured across the U.S. — and around the world — for summer internships. Number crunching, content creation and sales pitches took place at Major League Baseball clubs, Fortune 500 companies and purpose-driven nonprofits.

Lessons went beyond technical skills. Learning to adapt to office culture, work both independently and in teams, ask questions, build trust and navigate life in a new country helped boost confidence, uncover passions and shift career paths.

Here we highlight a few Falcons who shared reflections on LinkedIn about their summer internship experiences.

Marissa Cerrone ’27

Hometown: Manhasset, New York

Major: Finance

Minors: Computer Information Systems and Business Administration

Internship: Wealth management intern at Morgan Stanley in Garden City, New York

During my internship, I had the opportunity to:

  • Conduct in-depth Excel analysis to identify potential investment opportunities and relationship targets
  • Build macros in VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) to automate data entry and analysis
  • Serve as Excel Captain in our intern stock-picking competition, creating a file with automated formulas to track performance and rankings. Our team placed first with an 18% gain in three weeks!

This experience strengthened my skills, expanded my perspective and deepened my appreciation for teamwork. I’m excited to see where the future takes me!”

Gabriella Furtado ’26

Hometown: Barrington, Rhode Island

Majors: Management and Public Policy

Minor: Law

Internship: Client services intern at Boston Red Sox

“This summer gave me the chance to immerse myself in a historic and inspiring organization. A few highlights:

  • Participating in two community volunteer days, which helped me discover a genuine passion for community outreach
  • Overseeing our Premium Client Services rewards program, regularly engaging with clients and ensuring the accurate and timely distribution of promotional items
  • Connecting with individuals from other Red Sox departments during “Lunch and Learn” sessions, which opened my eyes to new career paths and areas of interest in the sports world

The supportive relationships I built within my department helped me recognize that relationship management is central to the type of work I want to pursue moving forward.”

Layal (Lily) Glewan ’27

Hometown: Stillwater, Oklahoma

Major: Film & Media Studies

Minors: Psychology and Media Management

Internship: Forum Network intern at GBH in Boston

“At the heart of GBH is the blend of business and art, a mixture I’ve been a firm proponent of and have been studying in depth at Bentley. I was able to use my animation skills to create updated graphics for Forum Network, a public media service providing free educational videos and audio recordings.

The most impactful moment was realizing how many teams it takes to create meaningful media. I grew up watching PBS Kids, and some of my favorite shows were directly produced by GBH. In a way, being in that environment once more gave me an overwhelming feeling of excitement and purpose. Public media played an important role in my own life, so being able to give back to this community made this experience even more special.”

Grayson Kutcha-Humphrey sits in a blue chair at Zimpler headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden.

Grayson Kutcha-Humphrey ’27

Hometown: Orange, Connecticut

Major: Finance

Minors: Accounting and Earth, Environment & Global Sustainability

Internship: Junior accountant at Zimpler, a fintech company in Stockholm, Sweden

“Working with a fast-paced, collaborative team in a new cultural setting pushed me out of my comfort zone in the best possible way. In addition to learning more about enterprise resource planning reconciliation and foreign exchange matching, I developed the ability to adapt quickly, navigate unfamiliar work environments and settle into life in a new country.

What stood out most about the Swedish workplace was the sense of equality and trust: I was treated as an equal, my input was valued and I was given the freedom to manage tasks independently. One moment that truly captured this was being asked to contribute ideas during a team meeting, which underscored the power of inclusion.”

Agnes Szymanski ’25 (December)

Hometown: Garfield, New Jersey

Major: Finance and Technology

Minors: Cybersecurity and Business Administration

Internship: Operations analyst intern at Oracle in Austin, Texas

“This summer stretched my thinking, sharpened my skills and gave me a front-row seat to how a global technology leader operates. Along the way, I picked up a few important lessons:

  • AI is at the forefront of everything — Witnessing Oracle’s momentum with AI firsthand has made me eager to pursue roles that help democratize the technology.
  • Keep it simple, stupid (KISS) — Many great ideas start as something small and imperfect that’s refined over time. In business, evolution often beats revolution.
  • People matter most — The highlight of my summer wasn’t the projects, but the people who made them possible. The community made every day a chance to learn and grow.

From hallway conversations with inspiring teammates to soaking in that stunning eighth-floor view over Austin, this summer was one I’ll never forget.”

Bentley student Jordan Tandjung ’26, MSBA ’27 poses with others at the Bentley Asian Students Association Asian Culture Gala

Jordan Tandjung ’26, MSBA ’27

Hometown: Jakarta, Indonesia

Majors: Data Analytics and Experience Design

Graduate Program: Master of Science in Business Analytics

Internship: Customer Success Intern at SAP LeanIX, an enterprise architecture company in Boston

"This experience introduced me to an entirely new industry and taught me so much along the way.

My primary project was analyzing customer data to uncover patterns and produce insights that could guide future strategies. Using R code, I was able to clean, transform and visualize large datasets, identifying overlooked companies with untapped upsell potential.

I also learned that a customer success manager in this space does more than manage relationships. They translate deeply technical concepts and strategic business needs, helping clients make sense of complex implementation processes and achieve sustainable transformation. It’s a role that demands both technical literacy and the ability to drive strategic outcomes.”
