Computer Information Systems

We prepare students to plan, deploy, and manage the technology that powers the world’s leading companies and applications.

In the Computer Information Systems (CIS) degree program, you learn how to match business goals with technology.

This hands-on major will allow you to analyze, design and test solutions, and we give you space to practice what you learn in class. Our CIS Sandbox is an on-campus learning lab stocked with software for you to test drive and collaborate with peers.

The CIS degree will equip you with the knowledge and understanding of information technology capabilities and implications, as well as with competency in “best-of-breed” methodologies and tools for information systems development. Graduates are prepared to excel in any of the emerging and varied roles of the IT professional: systems analyst, application developer, systems integrator, IT liaison, end-user support, network manager, vendor representative and technical support specialist.

Welcome to the physical web

Computer Information Systems students in Bentley’s “Sandbox” created a self-guided campus tour that allowed visiting families to use mobile devices to connect to Bluetooth-enabled beacons placed in various locations around campus. It’s just one example of how state-of-the-art technology helps push the boundaries of what a modern business education can do.
