Lucy Kimball, Ph.D.

Lucy has been a member of the Mathematical Sciences faculty for more than 25 years, including 10 years as department chair. Her teaching interests include actuarial education and the mathematics of finance; her research focuses on models of financial markets, risk management, numerical methods, and optimization. Lucy was named the Wilder Teaching Professor and served as the first chair of the Bentley Learning and Teaching Council from 2015 to 2018. In 2014, she received Bentley’s Innovation in Teaching Award, which recognizes faculty who demonstrate exceptional creativity and commitment. She was also named a fellow for Project NeXT, a year-long professional development program of the Mathematical Association of America. Lucy holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Applied Mathematics from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. She received her B.S. in Mathematical Sciences with a Computer Science concentration from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell.

Jeff has been an active part of the Bentley faculty since 2004. He was the interim Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences in fall 2019 and previously was Director of the Liberal Studies Major (LSM) and Associate Director of the Honors Program. More recently, he served as a member at-large on Faculty Senate, of the Falcon Discovery Seminar design team, of the Resource Stewardship, Revenue Growth and Diversification strategic positioning committee, and of the Racial Justice Task Force. Jeff earned his Ph.D. in Government from the University of Virginia and B.A. in Political Science from UNC-Chapel Hill. His primary research and teaching interests are in the U.S. Congress, elections, race and American politics, and politics in popular culture. He also sits on the senior editorial boards of the Journal of Information Technology & Politics and the Journal of Political Marketing

Alyson arrived at Bentley in 2022 and joined the office of the Dean of Arts & Sciences in 2023, bringing experience in publishing, media, and entertainment.  With degrees in literature (BA, University of Vermont), business, (MBA, New York University), and education (MA, New York University) Alyson is especially committed to highlighting the value of the arts, sciences, and humanities at Bentley.
