Jane joined the Bentley faculty in 2010. She has served as chair of the department of Modern Languages, chair of the Faculty Senate, faculty director of the FirstGen Presidential Fellows program, associate dean of Arts and Sciences, and most recently, interim dean of Arts and Sciences. She holds a PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of California, Irvine and her research focuses on grassroots literary production in Chile. Jane is the author of The Labor of Literature: Democracy and Literary Culture in Modern Chile (University of Massachusetts Press in 2016) and has co-written two book-length translations of literary fiction by Chilean feminist writer, Pía Barros. She is the founding director of the non-profit cultural organization Inspired Masses, Inc. and lead organizer of the annual community-based writing project, “Boston in 100 Words.” When not working at Bentley University or Inspired Masses, you will find Jane enjoying the outdoors, good food and live music with her husband and daughter.
