Rankings and Recognition

Bentley University enjoys a strong position in many major rankings and lists, however we do advise caution in placing too much emphasis on any one ranking figure in general. While rankings and ratings can provide helpful insight into specialty areas and expertise at any school, these various assessments are only one measure of an institution’s overall quality and reputation.


U.S. News & World Report

  • U.S.News & World Report's latest edition of America's Best Colleges 2019 ranks Bentley University #3 in the Best Regional Universities-North category.

*Bentley’s graduation and retention rates have increased over the past decade, highlighting that the university is offering the classes and services students need to succeed.

Bloomberg Business Week

Bloomberg BusinessWeek ranks Bentley #10 among the top undergraduate business programs in the nation in the business publication's 2016 issue of The Best Undergraduate Business Schools.

The 2016 rankings focus on career outcomes and include 114 eligible schools. These schools were evaluated based on four measures of student satisfaction, post-graduate outcomes and corporate employer ratings based on surveys of graduating seniors and recruiters.

This year more than 60,000 graduating seniors at participating schools were asked to complete the survey covering a range of areas from quality of teaching to recreational facilities. Overall, 27,327 students completed the survey; a response rate of 42.54%.

The Princeton Review

The Princeton Review ranked Bentley the #1 college in the nation for career services in their latest guide, “The 384 Best Colleges, 2019 Edition.”

In addition to the best-in-the-nation career services ranking, Bentley was named to The Princeton’s Review’s list of Best Northeastern Colleges, Colleges That Pay You Back, Best Schools for Internships(#4) and Top 50 Green Colleges(#29).


Money ranks Bentley #4 in the United States in a ranking of Best Colleges for Business Majors. 

It also ranks Bentley #3 on a list of the “Most Transformative Colleges” that deliver the most value-add in helping students succeed after graduation. 



Other Recognition

Bentley University is ranked #1 for Business, Management and Marketing in a ranking released by College Factual, an online portal designed to assist students in selecting a college. The outcomes-driven ranking is based on factors including school quality and alumni salary information.

The Economist ranks Bentley #5 in the nation in their first-ever college ranking. Their methodology utilizes data from the Department of Education’s “college scorecard” to determine if the economic value of a university is equal to the gap between how much money its students subsequently earn, and how much they might have made had they studied elsewhere.

Payscale ranks Bentley the #2 undergraduate business school for its graduates' earnings in their 2017-2018 College Salary Report. 

Forbes ranks Bentley #12 on their list of Best U.S. Colleges for International Students in 2017.

Parade Magazine named Bentley one of the top schools in the country for Business and Accounting. The magazine questioned top guidance counselors for their picks of outstanding schools.

The 2016 Fiske Guide, featuring Bentley University, is one of the nation's leading guidebooks and an indispensable source of information for college-bound students and their parents for over twenty years. It describes the academic climates as well as the social and extracurricular scenes at the "best and most interesting" schools in North America.  This particular guide is popular because it is a combination of facts and prose; facts from Bentley and “opinion” by the writers and editors of Fiske based on interviews and surveys with Bentley students. Quotes include “the quality of teaching is fantastic,” “the dorms are in great condition,” “firms are recruiting heavily on our campus because they know Bentley students are prepared,” “there is never a dull moment on campus,” “students are constantly striving to achieve their best. An ‘okay’ grade is never enough.”

The Sierra Club recognized Bentley University as one of America's greenest campuses, according to Sierra magazine's Top 100 Coolest Schools list. Rankings were based heavily on energy supply, along with nine additional categories: energy efficiency, food, academics, purchasing, transportation, waste management, administration, financial investments, and a section entitled "other initiatives."

Kiplinger Personal Finance magazine ranks Bentley University #31 among the top 100 Best Values in Private Universities for 2016. Among the list of the Best College Values in New England, Bentley is ranked #9 among Private Universities in New England.



Bentley University is ranked as one of the 100 Best Business Schools in the United States to obtain an MBA in a new ranking from Bloomberg Businessweek. The rankings are based on surveys of MBA students, alumni and recruiters. They also take into account how successful graduates are in finding a job after graduation as well as their starting salaries.

Students and graduates cited Bentley’s No. 1 ranked career services and commitment to diversity to explain what makes Bentley’s MBA program stand out. “Great career services to be placed with a great company,” said one student. “The diversity of the class and how we were able to bounce ideas off each other,” said another.

U.S. News & World Reports

U.S. News & World Report’s “America's Best Graduate Schools 2019” ranks the Bentley University Graduate School of Business MBA (Part-Time) program among the top 100 in the country at #87 and #7 in New England.

U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Online Business Programs 2019” ranks Bentley’s MST and MSHFID programs at #29 in the nation. The ranking is based on factors such as level of accreditation, reputation for excellence among peer institutions and academic and career support services offered to students.  

The Princeton Review

The Princeton Review names the Bentley Graduate School of Business among the Best Business Schools in the nation for 2015.

Financial Times

The Financial Times ranks Bentley’s master’s degree in Finance #4 among all U.S. programs and #40 among the top programs in the world. In the 2018 Master’s in Finance rankings, Bentley stood out above competitors in multiple areas including:

  • #1 in the U.S. for International Course Experience
  • #2 in the U.S. for Career Services
  • #4 in the world for Foreign Exchange and Money Markets
  • #8 in the world for Financial Technology

QS World University Rankings

QS ranks Bentley's master's degree in Business Analytics among the top 50 analytics programs worldwide and Bentley's MBA among the top 200 programs worldwide. The QS Business Rankings assess the best postgraduate programs around the world. Each ranking is compiled on the basis of five key metrics: employability, entrepreneurship and alumni success, return on investment, thought leadership, and class and faculty diversity.

Other Recognition

Beyond Grey Pinstripes, a biennial survey and popular alternative ranking of business schools by the Aspen Institute named the Bentley Graduate School of Business to its Global 100 list for 2011-2012 in the organization's last publication. The prestigious ranking of MBA programs highlights schools that incorporate social and environmental issues into their curriculum and research, looking beyond reputation and test scores to measure how well schools prepare their students for the environmental, social and ethical complexities of modern-day business. In the most recent edition, Bentley ranked #58, and top 5 in New England. 149 business schools from 22 countries participated in the survey.


PayScale ranked Bentley's graduate programs #4 for salary earning potential in its 2016 College Salary Report.
