Yaro Fong-Olivares

Yaro Fong-Olivares is the executive director of the Center for Women and Business (CWB) at Bentley University and draws on her background in personal training and leadership development to make an impact in the CWB and across campus. Yaro has extensive experience in organizational development and management, including facilitating racial equity initiatives, diversity and inclusion, strategy development, leadership coaching, and change management.

More than Mentorship: How Sponsorship gets you into the ‘Room Where it Happens’

Join Management faculty member Dr. Amanda Sargent, to learn about the importance of finding and leveraging a “sponsor” and why this more active kind of mentorship is important for advancing women in their careers.  Tips for identifying, advocating to, and even becoming a sponsor yourself will be shared in this interactive introduction to intentional social networking.

Join Economics faculty member Dr. Savannah Adkins to examine issues that commonly affect women in male-dominated fields including gender bias, stereotypes, finding support networks, work-life balance, and imposter syndrome.  Dr. Adkins will examine these issues through an economic lens in assessing their impact on women’s career trajectories.
