Tips to Make the Most Out of Your Virtual Open House Visit

Next week, we’ll welcome over 500 prospective students to our first fully-virtual Graduate Open House! As the team lead spearheading planning, I know that our faculty, staff, and current students are excited to meet you and show you how a Bentley graduate education can transform your life.

Through my time working in graduate school admission, I’ve learned a few things about attending recruiting events like what we’re hosting next week. Here’s my three tips to making sure your virtual Graduate Open House experience goes as smoothly as possible:

  1. Make sure to create your schedule beforehand! Sometime during the week leading up to the event, you’ll receive access to build your own schedule as an event registrant. You can select options you think best fit your interests for the day, and add them to a handy link that you’ll have access to on the day of the event. Do this beforehand, as each session will have its own access link, and that schedule will take you directly to your sessions!

  2. Read up on our programs and Bentley’s services, and make a list of questions you want to ask in each session. In lieu of an in-person information packet, we’ve created a section on our Open House landing page titled “Digital Resources for Download.” You can learn about our programs, services, and financial assistance opportunities even before the sessions begin!

  3. Plan to follow up with our team after Open House. A full-day event can sometimes seem stressful, and it’s easy to miss a question or two. You can schedule a phone or video appointment with any member of our admission team to get those follow up questions answered.

I hope this quick guide is helpful to you as you prepare for what will be an information-packed event designed to give you deeper insight into the Bentley graduate student experience. I am happy to answer any questions you have before the event – feel free to email me at aorlando@bentley.edu, or you can chat live with any of our Student Ambassadors.
