Leaving Bentley Checkout Utility

FOR STUDENTS RUNNING WINDOWS ONLY.  Please note that Mac users do not need to run this utility.

Seniors must complete the Leaving Bentley Checkout (LBC) Utility prior to graduation.

The Leaving Bentley Checkout Utility (LBC) must be run while on campus on a wired network port. Right-click on the Leaving Bentley Checkout Utility link, choose Save Target As, Save and then Run the utility.

This important process will ensure the following:

  • Microsoft Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 2016 will continue to run post-graduation
  • Removes Sophos (Antivirus software)
  • Requires you to create a local account

The LBC utility is available May 3 through graduation. The process runs in less than 10 minutes and does not require data to be backed up.

Critical Dates

May 3, 2019: On May 3rd the process to convert Microsoft Windows 10 License to work after graduation will be available. You must reboot your laptop and login to the Bentley network (wired and on campus) to run the process.

This process must be completed by May 18, 2019. If you do not run this process prior to graduation, Windows 10 and Office 2016 will operate in reduced functionality mode.

June 30, 2019: As of this date, your laptop computer is no longer supported through the Bentley Mobile Computing Program.

August, 2019: Access to network resources including Blackboard and MyBentley will be removed.

Running the LBC utility will not affect your access to your Bentley email. Many applications including Microsoft Office are legally licensed to remain on your laptop.
