New Student Advising & Registration Information

Registration Questions? Start Here

Can I meet with an Advisor before registration?

Advisors will be available to answer quick questions about your first Bentley registration on July 22 and 23. Additional information is available on the New Student Website. Then click “I am a FIRST_YEAR STUDENT” or “I am a TRANSFER STUDENT” based on which one applies to you.

What classes should I look to register for during registration?

First-Year Students: Review the Choosing Your Courses worksheet before registration.

Transfer Students: Review the Must/May Take email you will receive on July 20.

What happens if a course on my schedule has no open seats?

Course availability can change quickly, so students are encouraged to identify backup courses before registering. For additional guidance, view our Completing an Unsuccessful Registration video.

Can I make schedule changes after registration day?

Yes. You can make changes to your schedule for 24 hours starting at 10:00 a.m. ET on your registration day.

Once that period ends, registration access will be unavailable until on-campus orientation. Registration will reopen during orientation and remain available through the end of the first week of classes (the add/swap deadline).

Where do I go for help with my schedule?

Academic Advising offers support throughout the registration process:

  • Before registration day: Join a Registration Advising session on Zoom.
  • On registration day: Join Registration Day Support on Zoom.
  • During on-campus orientation: Attend the Schedule Assistance session hosted by Academic Advising.
  • During the first week of classes: Stop by Academic Advising's drop-in hours from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Jennison 336.
Can I change my major?

Yes. Students who wish to change their major will have an opportunity to do so during Orientation. New students do not need to make decisions about changing their major before Orientation. Transfer students who are considering a major change should contact Admissions as soon as possible so that course recommendations can be updated as needed.
