Health Studies

Our program combines studies in biology, technology, and culture to prepare you for the task ahead. With a mix of coveted skills, you can help organizations find and apply the latest scientific research—for the benefit of all. You’ll learn the basics of human health and disease and how institutions traditionally deliver care. The program culminates in an internship or research project, so you gain valuable experience and professional contacts during your senior year. Depending on your interests, you can specialize your Health Studies degree in biotechnology, environmental health, health policy or health psychology—or create a new concentration with your faculty adviser.

As a Health Studies major, you will graduate with a broad knowledge of business by completing courses that are part of the Business Administration minor. You will also have the option of complementing your Health Studies major with a Business Administration major, or any other approved Bentley major, by using some of your free electives to take additional courses.

Global Health Challenges (NAS 318)

The forces of environmental, social and political change are expected to intensify in the decades to come. The reverberations of these inevitable changes will impact not only the magnitude of domestic and global health threats, but also their specific nature. Citizens and health systems must be prepared to deal with public health risks and consequences that they have never had to face before. This course will investigate public health from a community-based, global perspective, looking at health issues beyond our shores as well as the unwelcome risks and intrusions that global phenomena introduce into our lives at home.

Center for Health and Business

The health industry is one of the economy's largest and most expansive sectors. The Center for Health and Business brings students, faculty, alumni and corporate partners together to develop innovative and sustainable solutions for this evolving industry.
