Global Health Challenges (NAS 318)
The forces of environmental, social and political change are expected to intensify in the decades to come. The reverberations of these inevitable changes will impact not only the magnitude of domestic and global health threats, but also their specific nature. Citizens and health systems must be prepared to deal with public health risks and consequences that they have never had to face before. This course will investigate public health from a community-based, global perspective, looking at health issues beyond our shores as well as the unwelcome risks and intrusions that global phenomena introduce into our lives at home.
