Adam Payne, assistant director of the Multicultural Center and ALANA Experience coordinator, was invited to speak at the MIDEM Music Conference in Cannes, France, on January 25. An accomplished musician, Payne spoke on a panel about how brands are partnering with independent musicians and achieving success through viral marketing and other means. In particular, he discussed his experience with the GAP 40th anniversary Born to Play event -- the nation's largest simultaneous acoustic concert, broadcast at more than 700 Gap Stores Across the North America.

Bentley Global Studies professor Asbed Kotchikian joins the Armenian Relief Society to launch the newly revamped Youth Connect Program (YCP) on Saturday, February 6, at New York University's Kimmel Center for Student Life in New York City. Kotchikian, who serves as YCP director, helped redesign the program, which offers young Armenian students at colleges in the US an opportunity to participate in workshops on the challenges that students face today, and to hear about internship opportunities in U.S. cities including Washington, D.C., and New York, and abroad in Armenia.

All three Bentley teams that competed in the American Collegiate Moot Court Association Eastern Regional Tournament on November 20 placed in the top 20 highest scoring teams and advanced to the second round on November 21. The Moot Court competition requires students to simulate legal argumentation before hypothetical appellate courts.

The Bentley Police Department has joined forces with the Waltham Police Department for the 8^th annual holiday toy drive for local area families in need. The program kicked off on November 16 and will run through December 19.

Donations of new, unwrapped, non-violent gifts for a boy or girl between the ages of one and 16 may be dropped off at the Bentley University Police Station lobby. Cash donations will be accepted and converted to gift cards for distribution to the families.

Twenty-three Bentley students took part in the Annual Minority Business Conference and Student Case Competition on October 17, with six serving on the top three winning teams. Bentley students teamed up with cohorts from UMass and Suffolk University for the competition, which was sponsored by the National Association of Black Accountants Boston Chapter and held at State Street Corporation in North Quincy, Mass.
