Imagine this— you wake up every day with no structured schedule routine for your days because every day is different from the next— coffees, workouts, zoom classes, meetings all at various points, and finally, the opportunity to get some work done. This is my typical day. My transition from my undergraduate to online graduate studies at Bentley was and still is an exciting journey. Having to prepare every day for the different changes in this journey has truly enlightened my spirit.

Diwali, a festival of lights, is celebrated by billions of people across the globe to celebrate new beginnings, the triumph of good over evil, and light over darkness.

Typically this celebration features festivities in large family gatherings. Since international students are unable to have an equivalent experience in the current environment, Bentley University's Indian Graduate Students Organization held a virtual Diwali celebration on November 14th to unite the students and celebrate it as community.

On November 7, the Boston Chapter of the American Statistical Association, in cooperation with the Bentley University, Boston University, and Tufts Student Chapters, held a virtual Student Research Symposium in Statistics and Data Science. This was an excellent opportunity for our students learning in this field to present their research and discuss with peers and faculty from various New England institutions. 

Bentley University's Graduate Career Development team just recently hosted their largest fall networking event, welcoming hundreds of graduate students to network virtually with professional recruiters and alumni. Companies represented included Dell Technologies, Google, Microsoft, Fidelity, PwC, and more.

In 2018, Samantha Lee MST ‘19 was doing well as a tax consultant at a Big 4 accounting firm in Stamford, Connecticut. Her job was both rewarding and challenging. Many colleagues became friends. She took advantage of firm’s initiatives like community volunteer events and mentoring workshops. Life was good; but Lee still felt like it was time for a career reset.
