Bentley professor Jane Fedorowicz was voted President-Elect of the Association for Information Systems (AIS), a leading professional organization for individuals and organizations who lead the research, teaching, practice, and study of information systems worldwide. Fedorowicz, Rae D. Anderson Professor of Accounting and Information Systems, is the second woman to serve in the role, effective July 1, 2012.

Eduniversial recently ranked Bentley's MS in Information Technology program the 25th best graduate IT program in North America. 

Leading scholars from around the world will gather at Bentley to discuss key texts in the history of Chinese medicine as a preparatory step in the editing of the Handbook of Chinese Medical Literature. Bridie Andrews, associate professor of history, will use a $24,820 conference grant from the Chiang Ching-Kuo Foundation for International Scholarly Exchange to organize the conference “Understanding Chinese Medical Literature” for August, 2012.

The Gerald R. Ferrera Service Fellowship, established in honor of the popular and committed professor of Law at Bentley, is designed to encourage student internships at non-profit organizations. The program will provide a stipend for two fellows each year to pursue work at non-profit organizations, government agencies and NGOs in the United States and abroad. The first fellows will be selected in spring 2013 for service during the summer.

This intensive one-day conference, “Gearing Up: Take the Lead,” includes a keynote address by Betsy Myers, founding director of the Center for Women and Business, leadership expert, and author of Take the Lead: Motivate, Inspire, and Bring Out The Best In Yourself and Everyone Around You.  Attendees will participate in two (out of five) interactive, skill-building workshops offered by prominent management experts and consultants.

A group of Bentley University students teamed up with nonprofits Environmental and Energy Study Institute (EESI) and Consumers Union (CU) to survey consumer perceptions of energy codes, which are minimum requirements that builders must meet in order to ensure that homes comply with energy efficiency standards.

Debuting in January 2013, the program fulfills a strong market demand for graduate programming that prepares students and professionals for user experience research and design careers, fields that are currently rich with job opportunities, particularly in the Silicon Valley, San Jose, San Francisco, and the Bay area.

Bentley University seniors Carl Forziati, Emily Maher, and Aly Ostler, and junior Dylan Sumiskum finished first in the nation for the 2011/2012 iOme Challenge Money Smart Week video contest, which this year focused on how to improve the savings rate in the U.S

The Bentley Service-Learning Center announced three faculty grant awards: Joan Atlas, Skip Hachey and Liz LeDoux. The development grants are for $1,000 each for community-based projects. All three grant winners will offer faculty seminars on their projects during the course of the spring and fall semesters.
