UX Certificate Program

We plan to host courses in-person and online in Fall 2021 (online-only this Spring)

Leaders in the field of UX

Bentley University's User Experience Certificate program is one of the oldest and most respected programs of its kind in the country. The program is designed for working professionals, with maximum flexibility to fit your busy schedule. Certificate program participants join a global network of UX professionals.

Building a solid foundation in behavioral design, user experience research and design, and project management, this certificate helps participants improve the performance of their product designs while enhancing their competitive positioning. Each class contributes to one or more pieces in your UX portfolio.

Program Structure

Courses may be taken individually or applied towards a certificate awarded after completion of 9 courses, 3 of which are required (Human Factors and the User Experience, Usability Testing, & Managing a User Experience Group.) Courses can be taken in any order, and at your own pace.

Each course is a 2-day intensive on Thursday and Friday from 9 am-5 pm held in-person and online, in a synchronized format (UPDATE - all courses are online-only at this time due to COVID). Students are given an individual portfolio assignment at the end of each course and will have approximately two weeks to complete it.

Spring 2021 Schedule

All courses are held online-only due to restrictions around COVID-19.
In order to provide a variety of course offerings each semester, elective courses are typically held only once a year. Tom Roux.
Now that I've finished my ninth class, I must say I've really enjoyed my experience with the UX Certificate program. It's lived up to everything advertised and then some. I've learned a lot, met a lot of great, curious, motivated people, and feel the Bentley reputation and network will serve me well in the coming weeks and months as I finish my last two projects, post my online portfolio, and leap into my job search.

Courses 100% Online due to COVID in Spring 2021

Our #1 priority is the safety of our faculty and students. After reviewing Bentley University's COVID-19 testing protocol, we have decided it's best for us to host our Spring 2021 courses 100% online for this semester. We have been offering our courses online in a live, synchronous format for the past 30 years and are well-equipped to continue completely online until further notice.

All courses are normally offered in person or can be accessed remotely, in a synchronized format. Remote students will participate real-time and have access to the class materials beforehand. To receive credit, all students must be present during the full two days of class.
