International Affairs

The International Affairs degree combines coursework in international relations, political science, geography and cultural studies, to provide you with the knowledge and analytical skills to navigate complex global opportunities and challenges. You’ll learn by doing, too. Every International Affairs major studies abroad and becomes proficient in a second language. With study abroad experiences available in more than 25 countries and internationally focused internships, there are also numerous opportunities to develop strong cross-cultural skills.

As an International Affairs major, you will graduate with a broad knowledge of business by completing courses that are part of the Business Administration minor. You will also have the option of complementing your International Affairs major with a Business Administration major, or any other approved Bentley major, by using some of your free electives to take additional courses.

It focuses primarily on documentary and feature films, but includes television, radio, print journalism, music, poetry, textiles and the Internet, and will explore styles, forms and techniques of media production and reception. "Finding a school that had a strong International Affairs program, with a business focus, that would also enable me to study abroad, was a challenge. Bentley ended up being the solution. Now, as an Educational Tour Consultant at EF Education First, I believe that travel is the single best form of education and I'm able to inspire students from across the U.S. to travel abroad places they've never imagined."

"I joined CNN in 2011 and am now a political reporter who covers President Donald Trump's administration... I learned countless lessons from my major during my four years at Bentley that I still carry with me today, but what I continually return to is the critical thinking skills that my professors instilled in me. Viewing a story through someone else's point of view, given my line of work, is imperative."

"When I first arrived at Bentley University in the fall of 2012, I knew I would eventually earn a business degree, but what I didn't know was that I would discover a passion that would lead me to create my own business! I spent my four years at Bentley participating and leading Service-Learning projects that focused on English instruction for non-native speakers. As a certified ESOL instructor, I now spend my mornings teaching students in Asia, and my afternoons teaching students in Europe and the Middle East and my evenings teaching students in North/South America. None of this would have been possible without my Bentley education and the mentorship of my GLS professors whose instruction enabled me to understand others from around the world."
