Sustainability Student Leaders Symposium

The annual Sustainability Student Leaders Symposium (SSLS) brings together Student Sustainability Leaders from many different colleges and universities in the Northeast to learn and be inspired by each other during a half-day conference. The SSLS is a great opportunity for students to learn and be inspired by each other through presentations, workshops, and round-table discussions. The structure of the symposium allows students from different schools to lead sessions on a variety of topics, providing valuable presentation experience as well as facilitating the spread of ideas between schools. Sessions are typically grouped by broad topics, or tracks, such as “engagement,” “building a program,” or “communications.” The symposium typically includes opportunities for students to meet each other and share ideas informally.

This years SSLS will take place immediately before the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) conference in Boston which will be an amazing opportunity for students to connect with professionals. The SSLS will be a place for students to connect before the AASHE conference to focus on student projects and connect directly with other student leaders. To find out more about the AASHE conference or to register for their conference visit their website here.

Intersectional Environmentalism

Join us at the forefront of change at the groundbreaking conference on Intersectional Environmentalism: Bridging Perspectives for a Sustainable Future. This transformative event brings together students from universities and colleges across the Northeast, united in their commitment to addressing today’s pressing environmental challenges through an inclusive lens.

We will delve into the intricate web of intersecting social and environmental issues, recognizing that the fight for environmental justice cannot be separated from the pursuit of social equality. Through insightful panels, engaging workshops, and inspiring keynote speeches, we will explore the powerful connections between social inequalities like race, gender, class, and the environment.

The Sustainability Student Leaders Symposium is a great way to learn about what’s on the cutting edge of sustainability, from new technologies, media campaigns, and local initiatives. The best part of this event is being able to meet other students passionate about sustainability and taking the ideas shared at the event back to campus.
