It is important to remember that a sustainable future is meaningless if it is not also an equitable future. Social justice is a critical pillar of sustainability. We are committed to dismantling the systems that perpetuate oppression, racism and violence towards people of color. We stand with communities of color in the fight against racial injustice and inequality. Silence is not an option. We encourage our community to join us in getting active and continuing to educate ourselves on anti-racism and social justice. Black Lives Matter. -- Bentley Office of Sustainability.
A Statement from Our Team Regarding Our Office’s Initial Racial Justice Commitments
Bentley University is one of the nation’s leading business schools, dedicated to preparing a new kind of business leader with technical expertise, a broad global perspective, and high ethical standards.
Given that the business world and our environment are inextricably linked and that corporate social responsibility is becoming ubiquitous, Bentley students understand companies need to consider the triple bottom line - people, planet and profit - when making corporate decisions. By helping students integrate sustainability into their Bentley experience through classroom discourse, sustainability-focused student organizations, and in the corporate world through internships and service-learning, the Office of Sustainability aims to set an example for sustainable business practices.
Named as one of the most environmentally responsible colleges in the country by the Princeton Review, Bentley is finding innovative ways to reduce its carbon footprint while continuing to support the top-rated resources the campus has to offer. However, our sustainable goals cannot be achieved alone. In fact, the collaboration and enthusiasm among students, faculty and staff alike ensures that Bentley’s sustainability efforts are not simply actions of a smaller group of administrators, but the accomplishments of the entire community.
