The Residential Center employs over 100 student staff members who are integral to the operation of our department and the residential experience. We offer two student employment positions - Resident Assistants and Student Office Assistants. These opportunities provide students with unique leadership opportunities and transferable skills that can be applied to their post-Bentley careers.

Resident Assistants (RAs)
Resident Assistants are student staff members charged with getting to know our residential students! RAs deliver community engagement opportunities, serve in an evening/weekend duty rotation, and support the wellbeing of their residents. RAs are required to interact with all residents on their floor/area each month. These touchpoints serve as a way for the RA to get to know their residents better, develop rapport, and ensure they are doing okay. RAs are student leaders on campus and play a vital role in student success and the residential experience.
RAs have their housing and meal plan costs covered as compensation for the position.
We run a recruitment and selection process for the Resident Assistant position each year, which includes an application and an interview. All intended applicants must ensure that they submit their application by the published deadline, as we are unable to consider late applications and we only run the hiring process once per year.

RAs play a critical role in building community within the residence halls, aiding in the transition to college, and helping connect residents to campus resources. Not only are RAs providing valuable service to their community, but they also develop leadership skills and meaningful relationships that will serve them well beyond Bentley University.

Applications for the Resident Assistant role will be accepted until 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. Late applications will not be accepted. Interviews will be held Friday and Saturday February 6-7, 2026; additional information regarding interviews will be communicated to qualified applicants.

Student Office Assistants (SOAs)
Student Office Assistants provide important front desk coverage for the Residential Center main office. This team helps us provide a welcoming environment for our students and visitors who stop by to see us in person and call our office phone line. SOAs also assist with major departmental processes and operations throughout the year.
SOAs are compensated at a competitive hourly rate, consistent with Bentley's student employment guidelines.
We conduct hiring processes for SOAs on an as-needed basis when positions become available. Job postings will be posted in Workday when we are actively hiring. At this time, we do not have any open positions, but we encourage any interested students to email us at housing@bentley.edu to let us know of their interest for when future positions become available.
