Emergency Contraception

Emergency contraception, also known as the morning after pill, can be taken to help prevent pregnancy after unprotected intercourse. Though it is most effective when taken right away, it can be used up to 120 hours, or 5 days, after intercourse.

Emergency contraception is available at the Health Center during our regular office hours. Please call (781) 891-2222 to make an appointment or to ask any questions. You can tell the reception staff your matter is private and be connected directly to a medical provider.

When our office is closed, you can obtain emergency contraception at a local pharmacy, walk-in centers, or emergency rooms.

Support and help is available for students who have experienced non-consensual sex. The Health Center offers confidential medical care. If you prefer to go off campus, or our office is closed, you can visit Newton Wellesley Hospital. They offer post-sexual assault assistance including Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Services who are specially trained to provide compassionate, survivor-focused care.
